Les Maynard holds a Masters degree in Conflict Negotiation & Management from the University of Baltimore, and has worked with special populations to facilitate community integration and social inclusion of all members of society. Les specifically wrote his graduate thesis to formulate program creation of non-traditional groups such as those in juvenile justice for pro-social participation in social events such as sports to enhance life-skills and vocational development learning for independence in the community. This focus on devising programs and then seeking the intended implementation of inclusive social programs was reiterated in his USC & University of Delaware Masters in Coaching certificate, where the focus was on youth in foster-care, and how sport could be used to facilitate pro-social community participation. Les has worked with individuals with intellectual/physical disabilities and mental hygiene diagnoses for most of his career, and seeks to establish further transferrable skills development that sports can create for everyday life.

Les Maynard has played at the high School, and collegiate level in the United Kingdom, as well as trials/tryouts for the youth teams of semi-professional clubs in England. Les continued his playing career at the adult amatuer level in both the UK and US, and played on several teams that won regional tournaments/leagues. Les has also been fortunate enough to be part of successful coaching teams that have represented prestigious schools and clubs that either won or appeared as finalists in championship games for leagues/tournaments.

Les is also a USSF Regional Emeritus Referee, and mentor/clinic instructor where he seeks to share knowledge and experience to assist in the facilitation of educational learning for the next generation of soccer officials. Other officiating experience includes having been a referee at the collegiate level for NISOA (National Intercollegiate Soccer Officials Association), and for NFHS (National Federation of High Schools) where he has officiated in regular league games and championship games for leagues/tournaments.
